Alamogordo Planning Street Improvements

The City of Alamogordo has applied for up to $7.6 million in funds for a variety of street improvements. The City is seeking those funds from the New Mexico Finance Authority.

“Each and every project proposal here is evaluated on an individual basis,” remarks Reynold Romero, the general counsel with the NMFA.

Altogether the NMFA has approved just over $79 million in funding for a variety of capital improvements across New Mexico.

The projects range from school improvements and a variety of other building projects to such things as buying new solid waste equipment and fire engines.

In September, the NMFA approved a loan of $540,000 to finance district-wide improvements in the Cuba Independent School District, and $964,250 for the purchase and equipping of two fire pumpers for the City of Las Cruces.

In the past two decades the NMFA has put up nearly $4 billion in low-cost financing for a variety of capital improvement projects in New Mexico.
