Rehabilitate Runway at Taos Airport
A grant of $168,420 has been awarded to the Taos Regional Airport for the rehabilitation of a runway.
The money comes from the Federal Aviation Administration and was announced through the offices of U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman.
The airport is under the direct supervision of the Town of Taos and is located a few miles north of the town on some 180 acres off of Highway 64. The airport currently has a runway of 5,000 feet, but with up to 13,000 aircraft operations a year, has proposed extending that runway by more than 3,000 feet.
