Conejo Transfer Station
In an effort to move to the actual construction stage, site clearance at the Conejo Transfer Station, a waste management plant in Los Lunas, has been completed.
“The next stage will see both a renovation of the existing structure we have here, as well as an addition to that building,” remarks Angel Martinez, the solid waste manager for the station.
Estimated cost of the project is just under $530,000. Martinez says funding for the work is expected to come from a combination of federal, state and local sources.
“We were hoping to get that money by now, but that didn’t happen,” says Martinez, who adds that an application for new funding will most likely be made in the new fiscal year.
